(Strugatsky Brothers website) NOTES This is a crime / mystery thriller with surreal and psychedelic science fiction overtones based on a book Inspector Glebsky's Puzzle by the Strugatsky brothers. The screenplay was also written by the brothers and it differs from the book. The less you know about the movie the better starting point you have. The film is based largely on the mystery of what's happening to the people of Dead Mountaineer's Hotel. Is everything what it seems? Who's dead or who's not?。女童星希瑟·奥鲁克依旧饰演恶鬼企图掳走的目标，可惜她本人在本片公映前四个月就得了怪病去世，当年曾引起了一阵议论。本片中，希瑟搬去跟舅舅汤姆·斯凯里特和舅母南希·艾伦一家同住，但怪事仍不断发生，这一次恶鬼透过镜子作媒介将希瑟及汤姆的女儿捉进阴间，女巫泰珍妮前来协助，并给以护身符。汤姆因不听劝告而陷入险地，但南希却以爱心和勇气身入虎穴说服了恶鬼，得以跟亲人团圆。导演盖瑞·舒曼以玻璃及光学效果制造出不少令人叹为观止的映象特技，颇能烘托本片的灵异气氛。。
