石少隆是珠宝连锁店少东，自幼沉迷拳击运动；但因乃家中独子，管教甚严，只好瞒着父母暗中练习，愿有一日能实现出国参加比赛的梦想。隆父希望石少隆能与国外回流的表妹Grace亲上加亲，但石少隆心里不想有一个只顾吃喝玩乐的半洋人做女友，所以诸多推搪。。韩素瑛在丈夫于战争中身亡后，便在香港一家医院当医生，偶然在鸡尾酒会里认识美国新闻记者马克，才又尝到了恋爱的滋味。当两人正陶醉于爱情时，朝鲜战争爆发，马克也被派往战区工作，却从此一去不回。Framing StoryDr Martin (Robert Powell) arrives at a secluded asylum "for the incurably insane" to be interviewed for a job by the wheelchair-using, authoritarian Dr Lionel Rutherford (Patrick Magee).
